Marijuana industry entrepreneur Bret Bogue turned himself in to Mendocino authorities today. He was arrested on marijuana charges in Willits in 2006. Bogue began serving a six-month sentence at Mendocino County Jail in Ukiah.
Bogue’s wife Jeanette confirms that he was convicted on one count of maintaining a residence for the manufacture and storage of marijuana. His sentence includes three-years’ probation and five years listed as a registered narcotics offender. He’s already on probation from a previous marijuana conviction.
Bogue owns Apothecary Genetics and the online learning program, Ggeco University. Last weekend, he helped organize the Medical Cannabis Conference in Laguna Woods.
One witness to the arrest says Bogue brought a large quantity of freshly harvested plants to a friend’s house. During the trimming, police showed up. Bogue has long contended that he was set up.
A cancer survivor, Bogue currently requires surgery for several cysts. He also has enlarged prostate. Bogue and his attorney Edie Lehrman are appealing to the Sheriff as well as the court that he be able to have surgery before serving the sentence.
